history
The sports club was founded in 1921 under the name Racovia in the workers' settlement Raków, which was incorporated into Częstochowa in 1928. The traditional team colors are red-blue. Raków played for several years in Ekstraklasa , Poland's highest football league - the best placement was 8th place in the 1995/96 season . In the 2014/15 season, the club just missed promotion to the first division . Due to the direct comparison, he was fourth behind Rozwój Katowice with equal points and had to compete in the relegation . There he failed due to the away goal rule to Pogoń Siedlce . In the 2016/17 season, after many years in lower-class leagues, he finally returned to the first division. In the 2018/19 season , Raków secured promotion to the Ekstraklasa four game days before the end of the season, to which the club is returning after 21 years.
