history

Game between Pogoń Siedlce and Jagiellonia Białystok

The football club Pogoń Siedlce was founded in 1944 when MKS Pogoń Siedlce decided to open a football department. MKS Pogoń Siedlce is known for its rugby division , which currently plays in the highest Polish rugby class, the Ekstraliga . In the 2013/14 season she finished second behind the rugby division of Lechia Danzig .

At the beginning Pogoń Siedlce played exclusively in the lower leagues until the club managed to move up to the second division in the 1985/86 season . The best results in the Polish Football Cup achieved Pogoń Siedlce with reaching the quarter-finals in 1987, in which they were eliminated 6-1 against Legia Warsaw and with reaching the second round in 2000. At that time they lost 2-0 against Górnik Zabrze .

In the 2013/14 season, after more than twenty years in the second division, the club was promoted to the second highest Polish division, the first division . In the 2014/15 season they finished fifteenth and thus had to be relegated . There they prevailed with 1: 1 at home and 2: 2 away due to the away goal rule against Raków Częstochowa from the 2nd division and thus managed to stay in the league.

In the 2017/18 season , the club had to be fifteen again in the relegation, where they could not prevail against Garbarnia Kraków and therefore relegated back to the 2nd division
