Garbarnia Kraków is a Polish football club from the Krakow district Ludwinow . The club, which has already played 15 seasons in the Ekstraklasa and became Polish champions in 1931, now plays in the third-class 2nd division .

history

The association was founded in 1921 under the name KS Lauda and was called KS Garbarnia from 1924 , when it was sponsored by the Polskie Zakłady Garbarskie (= "Polish tanneries"). In 1929, the club was able to achieve its first major success with the runner-up title behind Warta Posen . In 1931 he achieved his greatest success when he became Polish champion before local rivals Wisła Krakow . In 1949 the club name was changed to ZS Związkowiec Kraków and after a merger with Korona Kraków, further changes to the name followed. Since 1971 the association has been called RKS Garbania . In the 2008/09 season, the club made it to the 3rd division and two years later to the 2nd division . However, the club rose again in the 2013/14 season and has since played in the 3rd division. In the 2015/16 season, the club was first in the 3rd division, but failed in the promotion games to Warta Posen. In the following season they became champions again, which this year meant direct promotion to the 2nd division. In the 2017/18 season, the " Gerber " rose after promotion games against Pogoń Siedlce in the first division, but there they missed relegation and had to return directly to the second division.
