The Henryk Reyman Stadium , which was also called Wisła Stadium or Stadium on Reymont Street until March 2008 , is a football stadium in Krakow and the home of the clubs Wisła Krakow and Garbarnia Krakow since 2018 . It is named after the former Krakow football player Henryk Reyman .

The stadium was built between 1904 and 1914 and opened in its current form in 1954. It now holds 20,732 spectators, the record number of over 45,000 fans was achieved in a 1976 UEFA Cup game against Celtic Glasgow .

Location of the Wisła Stadium

The Wisła Stadium is located in Czarna Wieś , three kilometers from the Main Market Square , separated only by the Błonia Meadows , a 48-hectare green space, from the Józef Piłsudski Cracovia Stadium , which is used by arch rivals Cracovia Kraków . An impromptu fair with around 30,000 participants took place in the Cracovia Stadium on April 2, 2005. The reason for this was the death of the Polish Pope John Paul II. The main entrance to the stadium can be reached via "Reymont Street". The entire club area of Wisła Kraków is located on this street. On the club's premises you will find a club hotel, two sports halls, an open-air swimming pool, two stores with souvenirs and tickets (basketball and football) and the club's own restaurant "u Wiślaków" (by the Wislaners). From "Reymont Street" one has access to sectors A, B, C and D.

Spectators enter "Sector E" via "Strasse des 3. Mais", which is located opposite "Reymont Strasse". This is the grandstand that was the first to be built as part of the modernization. The grandstand has space for 5,690 people, including 1,200 organized guest fans.

Modernization of the Wisła Stadium

Modernization of the stadium began in November 2004 . The cost of this was borne by the City of Krakow. The first phase of the modernization lasted almost a year and included the construction of a new covered grandstand behind a gate, which offers a seat for 5600 spectators. In the second phase of the renovation, a covered grandstand was built behind the other gate, which also offers space for 5600 people. On this grandstand there is a white star formed from the seats on a red-blue background, which is the symbol of the Wisła Krakow Association. Inside the grandstand is a club museum, which is still being built. In the third phase, a round press building was erected in a corner of the stadium, which was completed in spring 2008. Phases 4 and 5 form the construction of the two grandstands along the playing field. According to the current project, a grandstand should have 12,000 seats in two tiers. The 12,000-meter grandstand is to be built on the site of the current main grandstand. The construction work was completed on October 15, 2011. The final capacity is 33,268 spectators. The stadium was planned as a reserve venue for the 2012 European Championship .
