Błękitni Stargard is a Polish football club from Stargard in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship . The club currently plays in the 2nd division , the third highest Polish division.
history
The club was founded on May 18 by Tadeusz Świniarski, a track and field athlete who took part in the 1946 European Athletics Championships in Oslo.
In the 1981/82 season, the club made it to the first division , but rose again after only one season in fifteenth. It was not until the 2002/03 season that the club was able to work its way up to the first division again, but withdrew after the first half of the season and had to relegate again. Then Stargard was relegated to the 3rd division , and since the 2013/14 season they have been back in the 2nd division.
In the 2014/15 Cup , the third division reached the semi-finals, in which the club even won the first leg against Lech Posen 3-1, but were eliminated in the second leg after extra time. Before that, Stargard had eliminated the first and second division clubs KS Cracovia , Chojniczanka Chojnice and GKS Tychy .
