The hyphaema or hyphäma (from the Greek  ὑπό hypo ( lower ) and αἷμα haima (blood)) is an accumulation of blood in the lower area of ​​the anterior chamber in ophthalmology . It can result from an injury , acute hemorrhagic iritis, or infection . When the head is upright, the accumulation of blood in the hyphaema appears as a horizontal mirror.
