Rozwój Katowice (officially: Klub Sportowy Rozwój Katowice) is a Polish football club from Katowice in the Silesian Voivodeship .
history
Rozwój Katowice was founded on November 27, 1925 in Katowice , Upper Silesia . Its origins go back to 1919 when the Sokół Katowice-Brynów gymnastics club founded a youth football team. A boxing department was established in 1927 , and other departments such as handball , athletics , rugby , basketball and chess were added.
In 1939 the club made it to class A, but the German invasion of Poland and the outbreak of World War II brought football competitions to a standstill in Poland. After the end of the war, in 1946, Rozwój Katowice took part in gaming again. He then played for many years in the 4th division and the 3rd division. In 2000 the club rose to the 2nd division . In the 2014/15 season, the club was just third due to the direct comparison against Raków Częstochowa and thus made it to the first division for the first time and thus played for the first time in the same league as local rivals GKS Katowice . In the following season, however, the club rose again as the penultimate. In 2019 he was relegated to the 3rd division .
