Jacek Krzynówek [ ˈjatsɛk kʃɨˈnuvɛk ] (born May 15, 1976 in Kamieńsk ) is a former Polish football player . The qualities of the midfielder , who was mostly used on the left wing, included his speed and his shooting technique and power, which made him a specialist in long-range shots and free kicks.

career

societies

He began his career with the Polish clubs LZS Chrzanowice, RKS Radomsko, Rakow Częstochowa and GKS Bełchatów . From the latter club, the then second division 1. FC Nürnberg signed him for the 1999/2000 season for a loan fee of 200,000 Deutschmarks. He became a regular player at FCN and one of the best second division players and was promoted to the Bundesliga with the team in 2000/01 . It was therefore surprising that he lost his regular place to Lars Müller at the beginning of the 2001/02 season . Only at the end of the first half of the season he was back in the starting line-up. In preparation for the 2002/03 season he suffered a cruciate ligament tear , so he missed the entire first half of the season. In the second half of the season he played again, but was relegated to 1. FC Nürnberg. The club gave up Krzynówek for financial reasons. With Bayer 04 Leverkusen a new employer found, but which was only prepared himself for a financial bottleneck Krzynówek for 2004/05 to commit. He played another year for the Nuremberg club in the 2nd Bundesliga and with his twelve goals in the 2003/04 season contributed to the immediate resurgence.

From 2004 he played in Leverkusen as agreed. There he continued his good performance at first. He also showed his skills in the UEFA Champions League and was one of the best players in Leverkusen's 3-0 win against Real Madrid on September 15, 2004 with one goal and one assist. In the 2005/06 season , however, impaired by a protracted knee injury, he was rarely taken into account and therefore moved to VfL Wolfsburg for the 2006/07 season . There he trained again under Klaus Augenthaler , with whom he had already worked temporarily in Nuremberg and Leverkusen, until he moved in 2007.

On February 2, 2009 Krzynówek was committed after the departure of Szabolcs Huszti from Hannover 96 as a new midfielder. In his second game he scored his first goal for Hannover 96 with a directly converted free kick. After being without a club since 2010, Krzynówek announced the end of his playing career on August 15, 2011. In the German elite class, the Pole had scored 24 goals in 178 games.

National team

He completed 96 games for the Polish national team , in which he scored 15 goals. He took part with her at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea , the 2006 World Cup in Germany and the 2008 European Championship in Austria and Switzerland . At both world championships (2002 and 2006) he completed all three preliminary round matches.

Awards

In 2003 and 2004, Krzynówek was voted Footballer of the Year in Poland .
