biography

Brauner's first success at international level was winning the bronze medal in combination at the 1994 Junior World Championships . She made her debut in the World Cup on February 2, 1994 at the descent in the Sierra Nevada . She won her first World Cup points on December 18, 1994 with place 27 in the slalom in Sestriere . Although she initially achieved the better performance in the slalom, she specialized in the fast disciplines. She achieved her first top 10 placement on February 2, 1997 with fourth place in the combination of Laax . This was synonymous with her best ever World Cup result.

Both in the winter of 1998/99 and in the winter of 1999/2000 Brauner was four times among the top ten. As a result, however, it gradually lost touch with the world's best. After four world championships and one Olympic participation, she announced her resignation in October 2003, as she had hardly been able to train in the previous summer due to a back injury. Brauner trained as a physiotherapist. She has worked for the German Ski Association since 2009 and looks after the women's national team.
