Nathan Júnior Soares de Carvalho (born March 10, 1989 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian football player .

Athletic career

Nathan Júnior began his career at Flamengo Rio de Janeiro before moving to Europe in 2005 . His first station in the Old World was the Cypriot association Anorthosis Famagusta , where he was active in their youth department until 2008. In 2008 he turned his back on the Mediterranean island and moved to Latvia to the JFK Olimps . There he was able to draw attention to himself with good performances and switched to Skonto Riga within the league, where he was active for three and a half years and scored 45 goals in 71 games. In addition, he was able to win the Latvian championship title in 2010 and became the league's top scorer with 18 goals. The Latvian Cup followed in 2012.

At the beginning of January 2012 he moved to Austria to Kapfenberger SV , where he was supposed to save the Upper Styrians from relegation. He made his debut in the top Austrian league on February 25, 2012 where he scored the 1-0 winner against FK Austria Wien , but he could not score another goal and Kapfenberg was relegated.
