The FC Dila Gori ( Georgian დილა გორი) is a Georgian football club from Gori and plays in the top division of Georgia , the Umaghlessi League . The club colors are blue and white.
General
The association was founded in 1949. During the Soviet Union, Dila Gori played in the third division in 1967, 1969, 1974 and 1986; a promotion to higher divisions did not succeed. After the independence of Georgia Dila Gori belonged to the first division of Georgia until 2001 and after the immediate rise again in 2008. This was followed by a year each in the second, third and again second division. In 2011, FC Dila Gori made it to the top division - a year later they were on a place that allowed them to participate in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League . They had a big surprise when they eliminated Aarhus GF . In the 2012/13 season, the club took 2nd place and therefore participated again from the 2nd round in qualifying for the 2013/14 Europa League . In rounds 2 and 3, the favorites Aalborg BK and Hajduk Split were defeated, in the playoff round Dila Gori was eliminated by Rapid Vienna .
In the 2014/15 season , Dila Gori won the Georgian championship for the first time.
The home of the club is the Tengis Burdschanadze Stadium , which has a capacity of 8,230 spectators.
