Georgian soccer cup
The Georgian Football Cup ( Georgian : საქართველოს თასი) is the highest cup competition in Georgian football. The Cup of the Soviet Union Republic of the GSSR took place from 1944 to 1989 . On February 15, 1990, the independent Georgian Football Association was founded. In addition to the cup, he is also responsible for the championship of the Umaghlessi League . In 2001 the competition was named after the former Georgian soccer player Dawit Qipiani ; who died shortly before. The cup winner receives a starting place in the qualification for the UEFA Europa League .
The record holder with 13 final wins is Dinamo Tiflis , the current (2019) FC Saburtalo Tiflis .
