Belarusian football cup
The Belarusian Football Cup ( Belarusian Кубак Беларусі / Kubak Belarusi ) is a competition for Belarusian football clubs . It has been held annually since 1992, the year after Belarus became independent, and is the country's second most important football competition after the championship . The winner receives a place in the qualifying round for the UEFA Europa League .
mode
The cup is played in a knockout system , the winner reaches the next round. In the first two rounds, lower-class clubs have home rights, the eighth, quarter and semi-finals are played with a home and away leg. The final takes place in a neutral place.
In contrast to the championship, which is held within a calendar year, the cup competition starts in the second half of the year and the final usually takes place in May of the following year.
