The Liechtenstein Cup competition has been a year in 1945 by the Liechtenstein Football Association being transmitted Football contest. The cup winner has competed in the European Cup since 1992 (until 1998 European Cup Winners' Cup , 1999 to 2008 UEFA Cup , since 2009 UEFA Europa League ). Since the Liechtenstein clubs take part in the Swiss Football Association's game operations, the cup is the only football competition in Liechtenstein.

The Lichtenstein Football Association consists of only seven clubs, the currently 15 participating teams result from the fact that in some cases second and third teams take part in the competition. The record winner with 47 successful degrees and 60 participations in the final is FC Vaduz (as of 2019 ). With FC Triesenberg's entry into the final in the 2014/15 season , Liechtenstein is the only country in Europe in which every club has made it to the cup final at least once.

In the 2019/2020 season , the competition was canceled due to the Covid 19 pandemic after the first semi-final game. A winner was not determined. FC Vaduz has been nominated by the LFV to participate in the qualification for the Europa League.
