The FC WIT Georgia Tbilisi ( Georgian ვიტ ჯორჯია თბილისი / WIT Dschordschia Tbilisi ) is a football club from the Georgian capital Tbilisi .

history

The association was founded in 1968 as Morkinali Tbilisi . In 1997 the club was renamed after the animal feed company WIT Georgia Company . The company has sponsored the team ever since.

After a chaotic playoff game for the Georgian championship against Sioni Bolnissi , which was overshadowed by fights and lasted almost three hours, they could win the Georgian championship title for the first time in the club's history in the 2003/04 season. Home ground is your own Armazi Stadium , located in 15 km from Tbilisi remote Mtskheta is.

Due to the Caucasus conflict in the summer of 2008, the club had to qualify for the UEFA Cup against FK Austria Wien (AUT) in just one game. The newcomer had to be determined in just one game. The game took place in Vienna and ended with a 2-0 win for the Austrian club. FK Austria Wien had promised WIT Georgia Tiflis before the game that half of the income from ticket sales would go to the Georgians, as they could not play a home game.
