The FC Shirak ( Armenian Ֆուտբոլային ակումբ Շիրակ Գյումրի , Futbolayin Akumb Shirak Gyumri) is an Armenian football club from the city of Gyumri in the province of Shirak . Shirak Gyumri is the only Armenian club to have played first class since the founding of the highest Armenian football league, the Bardsragujn chumb , and is also a leader in the "eternal" table.
Club history
The club was founded in 1958 as FC Schirak Leninakan, because that was the name of the city of Gyumri at the time. From 1970 to 1981 it was called FC Olympia Leninakan, but then got its old name back. Since Armenia's independence from the Soviet Union , the city has been renamed Gyumri again and the club has also been renamed.
The club won u. a. In 1992, 1994, 1999 and 2013 the Armenian football championship . The current interim president Andranik Adamjan was a coach from 1990 to 2005 - a record in Armenian football .
