Clube Desportivo Santa Clara is a football club from the suburb of Santa Clara in the Portuguese city of Ponta Delgada in the Azores .
For the first time in 1999, the club rose to the Primeira Liga , the highest Portuguese league, but rose again after the 1999/2000 season . After rising again in 2001, they rose again after two years in the 2002/03 season and then played in the Segunda League .
On May 6, 2018, CD Santa Clara was promoted to the Primeira Liga again with a 3-0 home win against Real SC on the penultimate matchday of the 2017/18 season .
