Vitória Setúbal , officially called Vitória Futebol Clube , is a football club from Setúbal , whose team plays in the first Portuguese league , the Primeira Liga . In addition to football, the following sports are practiced: Aikido , handball , athletics , judo , gymnastics and gymnastics , motor sports , chess and table tennis .

history

The association was founded in 1910. In the 1960s Vitória FC celebrated the greatest successes when the club was in the final of the Portuguese Cup four times and won it twice. The last success came in the 2004/05 season, when the Portuguese Cup was won 2-1 against Benfica Lisbon . In the 2005/06 season , the team reached the cup final against FC Porto , but lost it 0-1.

Felix Mourinho was goalkeeper here before coaching the club back in the Primeira Liga in the 1980/81 season. His son, the well-known coach José Mourinho , also played here briefly as a child. Incidentally, he states that in private he has never been a supporter of one of the country's three big clubs, but has kept his fingers crossed for Vitória Setúbal as the club of his youth and his hometown to this day.
