Lukas Raeder (born December 30, 1993 in Essen ) is a German soccer goalkeeper who has been under contract with VfB Lübeck since July 2019 .

Career

Raeder started playing soccer at Essener Sport Verein 10/21 in 1999 and completed three seasons from 2001 to 2004 at ESC Rellinghausen 06, which emerged from ESV 10/21 . Then he played three seasons each in the youth departments of MSV Duisburg and Rot-Weiss Essen . From 2010 to 2012 Raeder was active in the U-19 youth team of FC Schalke 04 .

He was signed by FC Bayern Munich in 2012 . For his second team he was used in the Regionalliga Bayern . After 24 B-Youth and 34 A-Youth Bundesliga games, he made his debut on July 21, 2012 (1st match day) in a 1-1 home game against FC Augsburg II for FC Bayern Munich II . In his first season he played 19 of 38 regional league games. In August 2012 he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and was operated on. On April 12, 2014 he was a replacement for the second goalkeeper Tom Starke for the first time in the professional squad and made his Bundesliga debut in the 46th minute after Manuel Neuer was injured in the 3-0 defeat in the home game against Borussia Dortmund . The following match day on April 19, 2014, he made his starting line-up debut in the away game against Eintracht Braunschweig , in which he prepared a goal. On April 16, 2014, he played the semi-finals for the DFB Cup over 90 minutes, which he won with Bayern in the Allianz Arena 5-1 against second division club 1. FC Kaiserslautern .

Under head coach Rolf Martin Landerl , he started the season as a replacement for Benjamin Gommert, but ousted him from the 4th match day. In March the season was interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic . At this point in time, VfB had played 25 games, 22 of them with Raeder in goal, and was in 1st place. When it was decided to break off the season, VfB was declared champion and promoted to the third division , as the northern relay was the direct promoter this year.
