Sven Lars Marten Mende (born January 18, 1994 in Göppingen ) is a German football player .

Career

society

Beginnings

After his talent was discovered in the Bambini team of TV Jebenhausen, Sven Mende switched to VfB Stuttgart 's youth team . After a year in the E-Jugend of SC Geislingen , Mende returned to VfB Stuttgart.

On July 28, 2012, Sven Mende made his professional debut on the 2nd match day of the 2012/13 season for VfB Stuttgart II in the 3rd soccer league in a 3-1 away win against Kickers Offenbach .

Mende moved to Karlsruher SC on January 24, 2013 . There he was in the A-Jugend (U-19) in the A-Jugend-Bundesliga until the end of the 2012/13 season , before joining the second team (U-23) in the 2013/14 season fifth-class Oberliga Baden-Württemberg ran aground.

Hamburger SV

For the 2014/15 season , Mende followed his coach Josef Zinnbauer and switched to the second team (U-23) of Hamburger SV . He led the team, which won 14 games and drew three times, as captain to the autumn championship. Due to his good performance, he was allowed to take part in the winter training camp for professionals in Dubai under Zinnbauer, who had meanwhile taken over the first team . On the 22nd, 23rd and 25th matchday Mende was in the squad for a Bundesliga game for the first time, but was not used. Under the later coaches Peter Knäbel and Bruno Labbadia , no further cadre nominations followed. In total, Mende made 29 regional league appearances and reached third place in the table with the U23.

SV Wehen Wiesbaden

For the 2015/16 season , Mende moved to the 3rd division for SV Wehen Wiesbaden . He received a two-year contract until June 30, 2017. There he made his debut on the first match day in a 0-0 draw against the Würzburger Kickers , when he came on for Luca Schnellbacher 16 minutes before the end of the game .

VfB Lübeck

At the end of August 2016, Mende moved to the Regionalliga Nord for VfB Lübeck . In the 2019/20 season he rose to the 3rd division with VfB . The season was interrupted in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic and later canceled when VfB was in 1st place after 25 games. By then, Mende had played 24 games (22 times from the start) and scored 2 goals.

National team

On May 12, 2010 Mende made his debut for the German U-16 national team against Denmark. With the German U-17 Sven Mende in was U-17 European Championship 2011 European runner-up and reached the U-17 World Cup 2011 third place. On February 29, 2012, Mende made his debut for the U-18 national team of Germany against the Netherlands .
