Tim Wheeler (psychologist)

Timothy Wheeler (* 1950 ) is an English psychologist, vice chancellor or rector of the University of Chester .

Live and act

His training in psychology took place at Bangor University in Wales, where he completed his training with a doctorate in psychology.

Wheeler was a lecturer in psychology and communication at Sheffield Hallam University in the 1970s . He became Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Sociology at Dublin University and in 1985 Professor and Director of the College of Social Research at Robert Gordon University in Scotland. At the same time he was temporarily visiting professor at St John's College (Oxford) and head of the communications and media department at Bournemouth University . In 1991 he was appointed to the Southampton Institute , of which he became director in 1997. Wheeler was appointed Head of Chester University College in 1998; his appointment as Vice-Chancellor and thus rector took place in 2005. Since his tenure as rector he was responsible for the purchase of the former district administration building (County Hall Chester) as well as the affiliation of the Kingsway High School by the Chester University.

He is married and has three daughters.
