Weitensfeld-Flattnitz is a former large municipality in the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan , Carinthia .

history

On January 1, 1973, as part of the Carinthian community reform, the communities of Glödnitz , Deutsch-Griffen , the market community of Weitensfeld and parts of the communities of Pisweg (remainder of Gurk ) and Metnitz were merged to form the greater community of Weitensfeld-Flattnitz .

After a referendum in 1991, the communities Deutsch-Griffen, Glödnitz and Weitensfeld (since 1995 Weitensfeld in the Gurktal) became independent again. In 1994 there were minor area corrections between the municipalities.
