The University of Chester ( German University of Chester ) is a state university in England with three locations in Chester and a campus in Warrington . In addition to normal studies, the offer includes postgraduate studies, scientific research and the area of "lifelong learning".
Chester is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Cathedrals Group, the Association of North West Universities and Universities UK .
history
The university was founded in 1839 as Chester Diocesan Training College ; the college was formally incorporated into the University of Liverpool in 1921 . In 1963 the institution was renamed Chester College of Education , and since 1974 the academic degrees Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science can be awarded. In 1996 it was renamed University College Chester with the additional right to award further Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees. In 2002 the Warrington Collegiate Institute was incorporated . It was spun off from the University of Liverpool and became an independent university in 2005.
