The University of Coventry ( English Coventry University ) is next to the University of Warwick one of the two universities of Coventry ( United Kingdom ). The oldest university in the city goes back to the "Coventry College of Design" founded in 1843. After the merger with two other colleges and various name changes, it got its current name in 1992.

Coventry University has over 38,000 students (undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate courses in 2005/06) from 90 countries. The university employs around 2500 people.

In addition to its own radio station, the university has a well-organized student association (CUSU), which looks after the needs of the students, offers various sporting and social activities and services, and runs its own club.

Evaluation of the university

In a ranking of the daily newspaper The Guardian , which is based on a survey of students and graduates about the study conditions and on an evaluation of the career prospects for graduates, the university achieved 15th place among 119 evaluated universities in 2015 and thus not only the best place to date for itself, but also for a university created by the British university reforms in the 1990s.
