The University of Wolverhampton is a British university. It goes back to the "Wolverhampton and Staffordshire Technical College" founded in 1931.

The university in its current form was founded in 1969 after a merger with the local art college. There are four university areas: City, Compton, Walsall, Telford and ten schools. Of the approximately 23,000 students, 30.4% are Asians or blacks and 15% are foreigners. Most of the students come from the immediate vicinity of the university. Birmingham is only 10 miles away.

The training in the field of health professions takes place in cooperation with the New Cross Hospital .
