The Cardiff University (English. Cardiff University , whale. Prifysgol Caerdydd ) is a research-intensive university in Cardiff , Wales . She is a member of the Russell Group . Cardiff University has around 30,800 students and employs around 5,200 people.

history

In 1883 the University College of South Wales and Monmouthshire was founded. In 1972 it was renamed University College, Cardiff . Financial problems forced the university to merge with the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology in 1988 and eventually became a member of the University of Wales in 1996 . In 2004 the university merged with the University of Wales College of Medicine , separated from the University of Wales and was now Cardiff University .
