Morten Rüdiger (born June 13, 1995 ) is a German soccer player who is under contract with VfB Lübeck .
Career
Rüdiger started playing football at the Lübeck district association Eichholzer SV before moving to VfB Lübeck via SV Eichede . With the A-Youth (U19) he was promoted to the A-Junior Bundesliga in the 2012/13 season . In the 2013/14 season , his last year with the juniors, Rüdiger played 24 times (22 times from the start) in the A-Juniors Bundesliga and scored 5 goals. The U19 of VfB Lübeck, however, went straight back to the A-Junioren-Regionalliga Nord . At the same time, Rüdiger played 4 times (2 goals) in the first team, which had to play in the fifth-class Schleswig-Holstein league due to the insolvency of VfB Lübeck and rose directly back to the Regionalliga Nord .
For the 2014/15 season , Rüdiger moved to the second team of Eintracht Braunschweig . In his first season he came to 18 missions (one goal) in the Regionalliga Nord. In the seasons 2015/16 and 2016/17 , 19 appearances (one goal) and 13 appearances (4 goals) followed.
For the 2017/18 season , Rüdiger moved to third division club FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt , with whom he signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2020. Rüdiger was unable to assert himself straight away in Erfurt and made 16 third division appearances, of which he was only in the starting line-up for three. Due to bankruptcy, the club had to relegate to the Regionalliga Nordost for the 2018/19 season . As one of the few players, Rüdiger remained loyal to the club. In his second year he established himself as a regular in the newly formed regional league team and came on 29 missions (20 times from the start), in which he scored 7 goals. In the first half of the 2019/20 season , Rüdiger played in 14 regional league games (9 times from the start).
In mid-January 2020, the insolvency administrator of FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt announced that the club could currently no longer pay the salaries. Rüdiger then returned to VfB Lübeck at the end of the month, with whom he signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2021. He was used in all 4 games (3 times from the start) before the season was interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and scored one goal. After the end of the season had been decided, the VfB Lübeck, which was in 1st place after 25 games, was declared champion and promoted to the 3rd division, as the North relay was the direct promoter this year.
