The sports club Eichede von 1947 eV (short: SV Eichede or SVE ) is a sports club from the Steinburg district of Eichede in Schleswig-Holstein. The club is particularly well-known for its football department, whose first men's team was promoted to the fourth-tier Regionalliga Nord in 2013 and 2016 . The youth department is also one of the most successful in Schleswig-Holstein at the moment and provides two regional league teams, the U17 and U19. The association has 608 members (as of January 2016).

Club history

The club was founded on May 15, 1947 by 18 people and was initially supposed to offer handball , football and table tennis . While the teams from the other divisions were initially not supposed to take part in competitions, the soccer team started playing in the following autumn.

Soccer

The club started in 1947 first in the district league B and within a very short time managed to rise to the district league Lübeck, which at that time formed the third league level, and met there among other things the second team of VfB Lübeck or VfL Oldesloe. After being able to stay there for a few years, they shuttled for a while between the third and fourth division until the club was passed through to the sixth division in 1979. Under coach Manfred Klitzke it was not until eight years later that they were promoted to the now fifth-class Landesliga Süd, before they could even move up to the highest class of Schleswig-Holstein for the first time in 1994, which was favored by a league reform. Since the association league was only fifth class from then on, the SV Eichede elevator team shuttled between the fifth and sixth leagues from now on.

After relegation in 1998, the SVE returned to the association league in 2002 and had already failed in the 2005/06 season just by the championship and promotion to the fourth-class Oberliga Nord. SV Eichede has been a partner of Hamburger SV since 2006 . The Red-Whites were leaders in the season after 31 of 32 games and would have only needed one point to win the championship against their direct competitor SV Henstedt-Rhen . The game was lost after a balanced half-time result with 1: 2. In 2007/08, a league reform was carried out again, as the Schleswig-Holstein Association League had to take on several clubs from the Oberliga Nord, only twelve association leagues qualified for the Schleswig-Holstein League, which from now on forms the fifth tier; the SV Eichede missed a qualification for the new league by six points.

Under the coach Hans-Friedrich Brunner, the sports club succeeded in winning the undisputed championship in the new sixth-class association league South-East, which qualified for promotion to the Schleswig-Holstein league . In 2013, SV Eichede became champions of the Schleswig-Holstein League under coach Oliver Zapel. In the subsequent round of promotion to Regionalliga Nord , they prevailed as group winners and thus rose to the fourth-highest German division. After only one season, you got immediately relegated. However, in June 2016, the rise was achieved again. In 2016 Jörn Großkopf became the coach of the football department and was on leave in November 2016. In 2017 the club reached the finals of the Schleswig-Holstein state cup competition for the first time. Despite the 2-4 defeat in the final against the second division Holstein Kiel , the club qualified for the DFB Cup competition of the 2017/18 season , as the state cup winner Kiel had already qualified for this competition through its positioning in the 3rd division. The opponent was then 1. FC Kaiserslautern . The game was played in the Lohmühle stadium in Lübeck and lost 4-0. In view of the class difference, the result was viewed as a respectable success. On the other hand, SV Eichede could hardly celebrate any successes in the regional league season , ultimately being relegated back to the fifth-class Schleswig-Holstein league as bottom of the table.

SV Eichede has been running successful youth work in the country for a number of years and has been providing regional league teams in the youth field for several years. In the 2016/17 season, the club is represented by the U19 and U17 teams in the Regionalliga Nord. The A-Juniors have so far qualified once for the DFB-Juniors-Vereinspokal 2009/10 and lost to 1. FC Saarbrücken in the first round .

The club plays its home games in the Ernst Wagener Stadium.
