The Turn- und Sportbund Flensburg eV is the largest sports club in Flensburg . It was created in 1973 from the merger of the Flensburger Turnerbund with the ATSV Vorwärts Flensburg and has 27 divisions, starting with popular sports such as handball or soccer to fringe sports such as the gymnastics wheel .

Football department

In football, TSB Flensburg played in 1994/95 , 1996/97 and 2002/03 for one season each in the Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein Oberliga ; the predecessor club ATSV (it operated temporarily as VfL Flensburg ) won the district championship in the top division of the time in the 1945/46 season in the north district .
The B-youth and the D-youth of TSB Flensburg have been playing in the association league since the 2010/11 season , the C-youth of TSB Flensburg has been playing in the Schleswig-Holstein League since the 2010/11 season .

In 2013 the management of Flensburg 08 planned a merger with local rivals TSB Flensburg and ETSV Weiche under the name FSV Flensburg . The merger negotiations did not lead to the hoped-for merger, but a small solution was found between 08 and Weiche, a cooperation in the youth sector. which further collaborations are to follow. The A-Juniors were merged into the playing community Weiche / 08 and the B-Juniors in the playing community 08 / Weiche.

In 2015, TSB Flensburg celebrated the championship in the sixth-class North-West Association League three match days before the end of the season, which will start the next 2015/16 season in the fifth-class Schleswig-Holstein League . Two years later, the Flensburg team became runner-up behind NTSV Strand 08 .

Handball department

The forerunner club Flensburg TB was able to show its first successes in indoor handball in 1949, when the club qualified for the final round of the unofficial German championship in Münster . There the team failed only in the final at RSV Mülheim .

In the 1971/1972 season, the Flensburg TB played for one year in the handball Bundesliga founded in 1966 . The men's team of the successor club TSB Flensburg, called "Beates Buben" because of its sponsor ( Beate Uhse ), succeeded in doing this a second time in the 1979/80 season .

The handball departments of TSB and Handewitter SV have formed the SG Flensburg-Handewitt since 1990 .

Volleyball department

The TSB volleyball women played in the Regionalliga Nord in the 2012/13 season.

Basketball department

The basketball department of the TSB is growing steadily. The department experienced an increase in the number of members after the integration of the basketball division of SV Adelby, which is also based in Flensburg, in 2016. There are currently around 170 members (as of September 2018) in the basketball department, mostly male, but the The number of female members increases significantly. The department attaches great importance to good and structured youth work, the youth teams play in the age groups U12 - U18, male and female. There is also a women's team that plays in the national league. The 1st men of the TSB is currently the figurehead of the department, which plays in the Bundesliga of Schleswig-Holstein in the 2018/2019 season. There are also 2 other men's teams that play in the district league and in the district class.
