The PSV Union Neumünster is a sports club from Neumünster . The first soccer team played for the first time in the 2001/02 season in the highest amateur league in Schleswig-Holstein , to which they have belonged intermittently since then.

history

The club was created on June 1, 1996 through the merger of FC Union Neumünster and the Police SV Neumünster , which was founded on May 28, 1973 . The FC Union footballers had previously taken part in the DFB Cup and played in the country's top amateur league for nine years. The footballers of the Police SV had played in the Landesliga Nord from 1985 to 1987 , at that time the second highest division in Schleswig-Holstein.

The "Police Union" rose to the regional league east in 1996 and immediately marched through to the regional league north. In 1999 the regional league was dissolved and the Unioners continued to play in the regional upper league east . Two years later, the team was runner-up behind FT Eider Büdelsdorf and made it into the Schleswig-Holstein Association League in the promotion round in 2002 . In 2005, the team was relegated to the regional league and in 2008 qualified for the newly created Association League South-West .

The Unioners became champions and rose to the Schleswig-Holstein League in 2009 . In 2011, the PSV Union was relegated again, but returned to the Schleswig-Holstein House of Lords in 2013.
