The ESC Rellinghausen 06 is a sports club in Essen from the Rellinghausen district . It was founded in June 2006 and the name arose from the merger of the three clubs, ESV 10/21 , SC Rellinghausen-Süd 19/46 and VfB Rellinghausen 08 in 2006.

history

VfB Rellinghausen 08

On May 1, 1908, some students met in a restaurant for a meeting with the intention of founding a football club. The first football club in what was then the mayor of Rellinghausen was born under the name of the Britania football club. After only two years, the club, which in the meantime also offered athletics, was renamed the "Association for Movement Games from 1908 Essen Rellinghausen" . The first success in the still young history of the club was celebrated in 1916 when VfB Rellinghausen became champions of the Ruhr district. This made the population in Rellinghausen aware of the club, which resulted in the establishment of a handball and singing department. During the First World War the game was stopped. In 1933 the city was forced to merge with SV Rellinghausen in 1910 .

The club built a sports field in the neighborhood Stadtwald in 1921. In 1937, the city of Essen terminated the lease for the sports field on Stadtwaldplatz, whereupon the game was played alternately in Walpurgistal and Am Krausen Bäumchen.

The handball department disbanded during the Second World War and the sports club had to stop sporting activities. After the war, the Rellinghauser clubs restored the Am Krausen Bäumchen sports field and reused the facility as a sports facility. In the 1950s, the club achieved sporting success in Essen, but rose twice in the early 1960s. The two clubs Spielvereinigung Rellinghausen 1910 and DJK Spiel und Sport Bergerhausen 1921 wanted to merge with Vfb 08, but the club refused.

SC Rellinghausen-Süd 19/46 eV

SC Rellinghausen

Immediately after the First World War, two clubs were founded in Rellinghausen, the gymnastics and sports club Rellinghausen and the football club DJK Rellinghausen . When the Second World War was over, the TuS Rellinghausen (1945) and the DJK Rellinghausen (1947) were able to restore sports operations under the new name "Alemannia Rellinghausen". The boxing department of TuS broke away from the club and founded BC Rellinghausen . Shortly after the "boxers" founded a volleyball and gymnastics department (1975) they merged with Alemania Rellinghausen to form the Sport-Club Rellinghausen 19/46 eV , or SCR for short.

Ball friends Essen-Süd 63

The club was founded on April 20, 1963, but never got beyond the district class.

In 2004 the SCR and the Ballfreunde decided to merge both clubs and formed the SC Rellinghausen-Süd 19/46 e. V.

ESV 10/21 eV

Rellinghausen Game Association 1910

The Sports Club Prussia was founded in April 1910 and continued to operate until the First World War. After the war, the club started again in the lowest class and merged with the Rellinghausen gymnastics club in 1891 . The merger did not last long, so that another merger took place in 1926 with the club Rasensport 26 Bergerhausen. The sports club was named Spielvereinigung Rellinghausen in 1910. Another reinforcement took place in 1933, when the Fichte workers' sports club was banned by the National Socialists and the members of the Spielvereinigung joined. Sports and games were discontinued during the Second World War. After the war you became the elevator team between the district and district classes.

DJK Sport Bergerhausen 1921

In 1921 the St. Hubertus Church founded the Game and Sport 1921 Essen-Bergerhausen association . In this club one renounced the senior area and started with a youth team. Since there was no sports facility in the Bergerhausen district , they moved to Rellinghausen. In the young history of the club, they were promoted to the district class in 1924 and relegated a year later. Since the National Socialists banned all denominational clubs, the DJK had to stop playing. It wasn't until 1952 that a new sporting spirit brought it to life.

The Essener Sport Verein 10/21 eV , ESV 10/21 for short , was created in June 1976 through the merger of the two clubs .

ESC Rellinghausen 06 eV

In 2005 the football departments of the clubs ESV 10/21 , SCR 19/46 and VfB 08 came together with the aim of forming a single club. After the footballers were in favor, the other subdivisions in the clubs had to be excited about it. After a general vote, the Essener Sport Club Rellinghausen 06 eV was created in June 2006 with around 1000 founding members

The first sporting goal could be achieved in the first year, as the first senior team was promoted to the Lower Rhine regional league and has been in the league since then. In the 2012/13 season they were runner-up behind the reserve of Rot-Weiss Essen and only just missed promotion to the Oberliga Niederrhein .

Sports facilities

From 1921 to 1937, VfB Rellinghausen used the sports field on Stadtwaldplatz. The club then switched between the square in Walpurgistal and the district sports facility at Am Krausen Bäumchen. In 1923 the district sports facility Am Krausen Bäumchen was built by the DJK Sport Bergerhausen. Today's district sports facility is still the venue for home games.
