Imants Bleidelis (born August 16, 1975 in Riga ) is a former Latvian football player .

Career

The right midfielder began his football career at Skonto Riga . He moved to Southampton FC in the English Premier League during the 1999/2000 season for £ 600,000 (pounds) . After an unconvincing year with only two appearances in the top English league, he moved to Viborg FF . From the beginning of 2005 to the end of the 2005/06 season, Bleidelis played for the Grazer AK . In 2006 Bledelis returned to Latvia. He played in the Virslīga first for FK Jūrmala , from 2007 for Liepājas Metalurgs , before ending his career in July 2008.

National team

Imants Bleidelis has (until 2007) made 106 appearances in the Latvian national team , in which he scored ten goals. Bleidelis made his debut in 1995. He played for Latvia at the 2004 European Championship in Portugal .
