Zurab Menteshashvili ( Georgian ზურაბ მენთეშაშვილი ; English transcription: Zurab Menteshashvili ; * the thirtieth January 1980 in Rustavi ) is a Georgian footballer .
Career
Menteshashvili began his career with Olimpi Rustavi . In his first professional season he was tenth with the club in 1996/97. In the following year, eleventh place was achieved. In 1998 he moved to WIT Georgia Tbilisi . He left Tbilisi after only half a year .
As a result, Menteshashvili moved abroad in January 1999 and signed with Skonto FC in Latvia . Already in the first year you could celebrate the championship title, in the cup final you failed at FK Riga . This success was repeated in 2000, 2001 and 2002, plus the cup wins in 2000, 2001 and 2002.
After these great successes, he moved to Alania Wladikawkas in Russia in January 2003 .
After only 13 games he returned to Riga and was able to celebrate his fifth championship there. Number six followed in 2004. In 2005 they were only runner-up.
After another six months with a discount, another attempt followed in Russia. Menteshashvili signed with Shinnik Yaroslavl , with which he was relegated from the top Russian league in 2006.
In 2007 he returned to Latvia, this time the Georgian moved to FK Ventspils . In 2007 the double was won in Latvia. In 2008 his eighth championship followed. In July, during the 2009 season at FK, he moved to Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel . There he moved with the club into the round of the top 32 of the UEFA Europa League .
Menteshashvili has played 38 times for the Georgian national team and scored one goal. So far, the midfielder has not been able to qualify for the finals with the national team.
