Kristo Tohver (born June 11, 1981 in Tartu ) is an Estonian football referee .

Career

Soccer

Tohver made his debut as a referee in the Meistriliiga in 2001 . He has been a FIFA referee since 2010. For the 2010/11 season he whistled his first games in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League . He was subsequently one of the referees of the U-17 European Football Championship in Serbia in 2011 , where he led the final between Germany and the Netherlands. The following year he made his debut in the group stage of the 2012/13 UEFA Europa League at the game between Molde FK and VfB Stuttgart . Four weeks earlier, on September 7, 2002, he whistled the qualifying match for the 2014 World Cup between Luxembourg and Portugal .

After he was also active as a referee at the U-21 European Football Championship in 2013 , he subsequently directed other games in the Europa League, qualifying for the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Youth League .

Professional background

Tohver worked in 2005 as project manager for the 5th European University Volleyball Championship at the Estonian University Sports Association and between 2005 and 2006 as development manager at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. During this time he was also an Erasmus student at London City University, where he studied the Masters degree in Arts Management . In 2006 he was project manager of the Ministry of Culture for Estonia as Honorary Country at the Gothenburg Book Fair 2007 and 2007 managing director of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. In 2007 he obtained his Masters in Cultural Management from the Estonian Academy of Music.
