The Meistriliiga 2011 was the 21st season of the highest Estonian football division of men. The game was played from March 5th to November 5th 2011. Flora Tallinn was able to defend the title from the previous year .
Season course
As in the previous season, the league comprised ten teams. FC Flora Tallinn started the season as defending champions . Ajax Lasnamäe was promoted from Esiliiga , while FC Kuressaare stayed in Meistriliiga after relegation after the club had prevailed against Kiviõli Tamme Auto . The JK Tulevik Viljandi was the newly formed FC Viljandi replaced.
The championship was played in a regular season in two round matches. Each team competed four times against every other team. The bottom of the table was relegated to second-rate Esiliiga , the ninth-placed played in the relegation against the runner-up in Esiliiga 2011 .
The opening game of the 2011 season was played by FC Levadia Tallinn in the home game against FC Ajax Lasnamäe , which was won 3-0. The Estonian record champions Flora Tallinn , also champion of the 2010 season , won their first game of the season 1-0 against JK Nõmme Kalju after Sander Post had scored the game in the 87th minute. In the further course of the season Flora took over the championship lead from arch-rivals Levadia Tallinn. The Tallinn suburb club JK Nõmme Kalju and JK Trans Narva were positive surprises in the 2011 season . On the 26th matchday at the beginning of September Kalju even took over the top of the table after coach Igor Prins' team clearly defeated FC Flora Tallinn 3-0. After 30 matchdays, the Latvian Aleksandrs Čekulajevs beat Tarmo Neemelo's six-year-old record from the 2005 season , who scored 41 goals, with his 42nd goal .

Relegation
At the end of the regular season, the ninth place in the Meistriliiga competed against the runner-up in the Esiliiga in the relegation, which FC Kuressaare could win and maintain its place in the Meistriliiga.
