Henri Anier (born December 17, 1990 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian football player who is under contract with FC Lahti in Finland . His younger brother Hannes is also a professional soccer player.

Career

Henri Anier began his career in the youth of Flora Tallinn . In 2007 the striker was loaned out to FC Valga Warrior for one season . At the second division from Valga Anier was able to score 13 goals in 24 appearances. Back in Tallinn he was able to build on the performances he had shown in the Esiliiga a league higher and scored there regularly. At the end of the season behind Levadia Tallinn runner-up, Anier was able to convince in the Estonian championship at the age of 18. With his 15 goals he was the sixth most successful shooter next to Indrek Zelinski who could also score as often. At this time, other clubs from abroad became aware of the junior national player and he finally moved on loan together with Joonas Tamm from FC Flora to Sampdoria Genua , in the youth Primavera the two Estonians wanted to offer themselves for a long-term contract in Serie A. In 2010, however, he returned to the regular club with Tamm and was able to win the title with Flora at the end of the 2010 season. In the following season 2011 , this was successfully defended, with 21 goals he was also able to set his personal best, with the attacker becoming the champions' best scorer. The second best goal scorers in the ranks of the record champions were next to his brother Henri the Georgian Sakaria Beglarishvili with eleven goals. At the end of the season, Henri Anier signed a three-year contract with Viking Stavanger from Norway. He made his debut on the first day of the 2012 season in the away game at Sandnes Ulf which ended 2-2. In 2013 the striker was awarded twice, first to the Norwegian second division club Fredrikstad FK, later to the Scottish first division club FC Motherwell . In June 2014 he signed a contract with FC Erzgebirge Aue . At the same time, his brother Hannes signed a contract with the club from Saxony , having previously completed a trial training session with Falko Götz . During the preparation for the new season, the striker injured himself, so that he was only used six times in the 2nd division until the winter break. Aue paid 350,000 euros to FC Motherwell for Henri Anier in the summer. The Estonian, who was supposed to replace Jakub Sylvestr , was on the field for less than 90 minutes in his six appearances for Aue. In January 2015 he was in contract talks with the Scottish first division club Dundee United , with whom he finally signed a contract until 2017. In September 2015 Anier was awarded to the Scottish second division club Hibernian Edinburgh until the end of the season. The loan ended prematurely in January 2016. In August 2016 he left Dundee and moved to Kalmar FF . In January 2017 Anier moved back to Scotland to join Inverness Caledonian Thistle .

National team

Henri Anier has played for Estonia since the U-19. He made his debut for the A-Eleven in his home country against the Basque Country via Estonia's U-21s in May 2011 . In the second half of the game the striker came into play for Jarmo Ahjupera . In the same year, two more games followed on the international trip to South America against Chile and Uruguay . Substituted for Sergei Mošnikov against Chile shortly before the end of the game; he was in the starting line-up against Uruguay and was replaced by Albert Prosa after 64 minutes .
