Jakub Sylvestr (born February 2, 1989 in Banská Bystrica ) is a Slovak football player who is currently active for Bnei Yehuda .

Athletic career

Sylvestr started playing football in the youth team of Jupie Podlavice . From there he moved to the youth department of local rivals Dukla Banská Bystrica before he joined the youth department of Slovan Bratislava .

In 2007 Sylvestr moved up to the squad of the first team and played both in the Corgoň liga and internationally in the UEFA Intertoto Cup , where he was against the Luxembourg representative FC Differdingen 03 to the goal scorers. In the 2008/09 season, the club loaned him to local rivals Artmedia Bratislava for the second half of the season in order to collect match practice. After his return in the summer, he failed with the team in the 2009/10 UEFA Champions League in the third qualifying round at Greek champions Olympiacos Piraeus . In the further course of the season he played with the club to defend the championship title, which failed as a table runner-up behind MŠK Žilina, however. He moved with the club in the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League . In the Europa League he failed with Slovan in the third round at VfB Stuttgart . Shortly thereafter, Sylvestr moved to Croatia to Dinamo Zagreb . For the 2012/13 season Dinamo loaned the striker to the German second division club FC Erzgebirge Aue . In the first round of the 2012/13 DFB Cup , he scored two of the three goals against the favored Eintracht Frankfurt . After a good performance before the winter break, Sylvestr didn't score any more goals in the second half of the year. Only with Falko Götz did things improve again. He scored two goals in the first game under the direction of the new coach and after the end of the season Aue signed him until the end of June 2016. At the beginning of the 2013/14 season he scored three goals in the first two league games and helped Aue get off to a good start . With a total of 15 goals this season, he made a significant contribution to FC Erzgebirge remaining in the class. He was also top scorer in the 2nd division together with Mahir Sağlık from Paderborn .

For the 2014/15 season, Sylvestr moved to 1. FC Nürnberg . On his debut against his former club, he scored the 1-0 winning goal. In his first year he came to nine goals this season in 33 appearances.

On January 13, 2016, he moved to SC Paderborn 07 on loan within the second division . The loan ran until June 30, 2016 and no purchase option was agreed. After the Paderborn relegation to the 3rd division, he returned to Nuremberg.
