Crosstab
The game 1. FC Nürnberg - SV Meppen (2: 0) was rated 0: 2, as Nürnberg had used four foreigners.
The game of the 33rd matchday between Leipzig and Chemnitz (2: 3) was initially canceled due to a rule violation by the referee, the replay ended 1: 0. In July 1995, by order of the world association FIFA, the original result was re-evaluated because, in the opinion of FIFA, the judgment of the DFB Sports Court (repeat match) violated the principle of protected factual decisions by the referee. Referee Michael Prengel first showed the Leipzig player Ronald Werner the yellow-red card after a foul on Heiko Gerber . After the referee noticed that Werner had not seen the yellow card before, he showed the player the red card directly . This rule violation by the referee led to the game being rescheduled by the DFB .
Ascent
Hansa Rostock returned to the Bundesliga after three years, St. Pauli after four years in second division. Fortuna Düsseldorf managed to march straight through as a second division newcomer and, like Rostock, returned to the Bundesliga after three years.
descent
Only FSV Frankfurt and FC 08 Homburg were relegated in a sporting way. The license was withdrawn from 1. FC Saarbrücken. Dynamo Dresden 's license was revoked in the Bundesliga . Bundesliga relegated 1. FC Nürnberg and newcomer FSV Zwickau benefited from the two license withdrawals.
Top scorer
The best goalscorer of the season was Jürgen Rische from VfB Leipzig with 17 goals . This award also had to be revised after the replay between Leipzig and Chemnitz was canceled, as Rische had scored a goal in the game that had not been rated in the meantime. Before the FIFA decision, Rische and Torsten Gütschow from Hannover 96 were joint top scorers with 16 goals each.
