Bundesliga 1974/75

The 2nd Bundesliga was re-created in the 1974/75 season as a substructure for the Bundesliga . The game was played in two seasons (north and south) with 20 clubs each. The two relay champions were promoted directly to the Bundesliga, the third promotion place was determined in two relegation games between the respective runners-up.

In 1974 the 2nd Bundesliga was introduced in two seasons. According to an elaborate point system, the clubs should be able to qualify for the new divisions. Not only the placements of the previous five seasons were decisive, but also economic and structural requirements. There was also a five- year evaluation, with the first two years being single, the next two years double and the last year triple. In the event of a tie, the last year should apply.

At the end of the season, Hannover 96 (North Staffel) and Karlsruher SC (South Staffel) were promoted to the Bundesliga as relay champions . After two relegation games against FK Pirmasens , Bayer Uerdingen completed the promotion trio.

Wuppertaler SV , Tennis Borussia Berlin (in the North relay) and VfB Stuttgart (in the South relay) were relegated from the Bundesliga and played in the 2nd Bundesliga the following season.

North

Hannover 96, relegated from the Bundesliga in the previous year, secured immediate promotion under coach Helmut Kronsbein as champions of the North Season. Bayer Uerdingen - coach Klaus Quinkert - was relegated to second place with a gap of three points. This second place meant for Uerdingen the participation in the relegation against FK Pirmasens, in which Uerdingen prevailed with a 4-4 draw and a 6-0 victory and rose to the Bundesliga as the second club in the North Season.

With one point behind Uerdingen, FC St. Pauli and DSC Arminia Bielefeld came in third and fourth with 50:26 points each. St. Pauli scored 32: 6 points in the second half of the season, but because of the weak first half of the season with 18:20 points, one point was missing from the final result. The Ostwestfalen from Bielefeld always played at the top and had made a stroke of luck with the winger Ewald Lienen who had come from VfB Schloß Holte . The SC Fortuna Köln , also relegated in the previous year, missed the immediate promotion as fifth in the table, which should not succeed in the future either.

In addition to the former first division club Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , TSR Olympia Wilhelmshaven , VfL Wolfsburg and HSV Barmbek-Uhlenhorst were relegated to the respective third leagues. Alemannia Aachen had before start of the round with the new additions Rolf Kucharski , Klaus-Dieter Sieloff , Hans Schulz , Udo lump and Josef wind much more than three points clear of the relegation zone calculated and had therefore at Tivoli also the coach Michael Pfeiffer by horst witzler replaced . The team from the Stimbergstadion , the SpVgg Erkenschwick, saved themselves with two points ahead of the relegation ranks over the finish line.
