Horst Witzler

Horst Witzler (born August 18, 1932 in Wuppertal ) is a former German football coach .

His first coaching station in professional football was SV Arminia Hannover and Schwarz-Weiß Essen in the 1960s in the regional league. Before that, he had made a name for himself in the amateur field through successes at VfL Germania Leer , which he had trained since 1959. Hennes Weisweiler gave the people of Leer from Witzler the tip . Witzler trained in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund (1970/71) and Rot-Weiss Essen (1973), which he returned to the Bundesliga in 1973. In 1974 he led 1. FC Mülheim to the 2. Bundesliga. In Belgium he achieved regional fame as a repeated "firefighter" at the second and third class AS Eupen (79/80, 1 / 86-86, 86/87).
