Likėnai
Likėnai (around 1600 Zlukcin or Lukicny , around 1806 Lukjany , 1843 Smordon and 1915 Lukiany ) (German: Langeningken ) is a health resort in northern Lithuania in the Biržai district . Coordinates: 56 ° 12 ' N , 24 ° 38' E
There are sanatoriums with baths and mud treatment : VšĮ Likėnų reabilitacijos ligoninė (rehabilitation hospital with 200 places, next to the house there is a 10 hectare park) and Likėnų sanatorija . The mineral water has a high content of calcium, magnesium, sulfur and chlorine.
It is said that Likėnai is a health resort where mineral water and beer are used for healing .
history
The first sanatorium was built in Likėnai in 1938. In 1948 a sanatorium for the treatment of back diseases and complaints opened.
After Lithuania declared independence, Likėnai was partially forgotten. The reason lies in the competition with modern and complex wellness centers in Druskininkai and Palanga .
