career

Amateur, Mönchengladbach and Regionalliga West

The junior player who came to Spielvereinigung Sterkrade 06/07 from SuS 21 Oberhausen won the Niederrhein championship with the blue-whites from the venue at the "Dicken Stein" in the 1969/70 season. In the promotion round to Regionalliga West, Sterkrade failed to Westfalia Herne and Eintracht Gelsenkirchen. Coach Hennes Weisweiler - he had brought the German championship to the Bökelberg for the first time with Borussia Mönchengladbach in 1970 - signed the talent from Sterkrade for the 1970/71 season. The youth national player Rainer Bonhof from SuS Emmerich and the returnees Jupp Heynckes from Hannover 96 came to the “Fohlen” -Elf. With his eleven league appearances in his debut round in Gladbach, the technically gifted dribbler did not make it into the regular line-up, but he was part of the defending champion's team in 1971. Coach Weisweiler even changed the talent on November 4, 1970 in the second leg in Manchester against FC Everton in the 106th minute of extra time in the European Cup of national champions.

In his second year in Mönchengladbach, 1971/72 , he scored three goals in 19 Bundesliga appearances. In the first round of the European Cup against Irish champions Cork Hibernians , Wloka excelled in the 5-0 away win on September 15, 1971 as a two-time goalscorer. Even with the 2-1 home win 14 days later, he was part of the Gladbach team alongside the other offensive forces Herbert Wimmer , Dietmar Danner , Günter Netzer and Ulrik Le Fevre . In the three clashes with Inter Milan in the second round, however, he was only on the bench. Since the competitive situation in midfield had worsened due to the newcomers Dietmar Danner and Christian Kulik , the man from Oberhausen accepted the offer of the relegated Bundesliga player, Arminia Bielefeld , for the 1972/73 round and played in the future regional football league .

On the "Alm", however, the circumstances of the Bundesliga scandal and financial difficulties went haywire. With Jan Notermans, Willi Nolting and Norbert Lessle, Hans-Jürgen and his younger brother Peter experienced three coaches in the penultimate round of the second-class Regionalliga West. By the end of 1972, several player sales were made in order to make ends meet financially. In the last regional league year, 1973/74, things only got better in terms of sport when Rudi Faßnacht took over training at the turn of the year . Hans-Jürgen Wloka was the central figure in Arminia midfield and with the follow-up commitments Volker Graul and Jonny Hey the qualification for the newly created 2. Bundesliga for the 1974/75 season was achieved with the 14th place. In the two rounds of Bielefeld, Wloka has played 59 regional league games and scored six goals. Bayer 05 Uerdingen, the team from Krefeld, took third place in the West Regionalliga in 1974 and signed the playmaker from Bielefeld for their debut in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Again the Bundesliga and years in the 2nd division, 1974 to 1985

In addition to Wloka, Friedhelm Funkel and Franz Raschid also joined the team from the Grotenburg Stadium . Under the administrative management of chairman Arno Eschler and licensed game manager Paul Hufnagel as well as the sporting guidance of coach Klaus Quinkert , the blue-reds continued their successful work in the 2nd Bundesliga since 1970/71. Uerdingen was runner-up in the North Group in 1975 and thus had the opportunity to get promoted to the Bundesliga through two qualifying games against the South Second, FK Pirmasens . Wloka had contributed five goals in 31 missions to the runner-up. At the "Horeb" it was enough to draw a 4: 4, in the home game the promotion was made perfect with a 6: 0 success. In both games Wloka played in the midfield of Uerdingen.

In his second attempt in the Bundesliga, 1975/76 , the technician completed all 34 league games in midfield for the promoted team and even led the internal goalscorer list with six goals, but he could not prevent the team from Krefeld from being relegated immediately . The offensive did not show suitability for the Bundesliga with 28 goals in 34 competitive games. In the next three years he played with Uerdingen in the 2nd league and was also active when the runner-up was again won in 1979. In the two qualifying games in June 1979 against SpVgg Bayreuth he was not in action.

After an unsuccessful round in 1979/80 at Arminia Hannover (17-1), he returned to his homeland on the Lower Rhine for the 1980/81 season and joined the "clover leaf" eleven from the Niederrhein stadium , Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, in the 2nd Bundesliga North on. Under the coach Manfred Rummel and his replacement Anton Burghardt , he immediately belonged to the regular line-up again with 39 league games with three goals. In the last round of the double-track 2nd Bundesliga, RWO's 14th place in the table was not enough for inclusion in the single-track 2nd division from 1981/82. In the second season, 1982/83, in the amateur Oberliga Nordrhein Oberhausen managed to win the championship with playmaker Wloka (31-9) and in the promotion round against SC Charlottenburg , SV Hamm and St. Pauli the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. With trainer Friedel Elting the league was achieved in the next two rounds with a 16th and 12th place. In 33 league games in the 1984/85 season, the 33-year-old midfielder played a key role in the 29 goals scored by fellow striker Manfred Burgsmüller . In the summer of 1985 he ended his career as a football player after a total of 249 games with 27 goals in the 2nd Bundesliga.

In addition to football

Wloka, who has been employed in the field service for 25 years at EVO, Energieversorgung Oberhausen - he has been in early retirement since March 2011 - was still very active in sports after his career on the green field. He rides a lot of bicycles, plays tennis at the TC Babcock in Oberhausen in the regional league and has also competed in marathons. In addition, he is still on the ball, for example when he meets the 1975 promotion team from Uerdingen to play football.
