Gilbert Dussier (born December 23, 1949 in Oïcha-Beri , Belgian Congo (now DR Congo ), † January 3, 1979 ) was a Luxembourg football player .

Career

Dussier started his career at Red Boys Differdange . Between 1967 and 1974 he ran for the club in the national division and was able to celebrate winning the Luxembourg Cup with the club in 1972. He then moved to Germany and played a season in the newly founded 2nd Bundesliga . With the SV Röchling Völklingen he finished 13th, where he made a decisive contribution to keeping the club from Saarland in the league with 17 goals this season . He scored the club's first three goals in the new league - two in a 2-1 away win at SpVgg Bayreuth and in a 5-1 win over VfR Mannheim , which catapulted the Saarlanders to first place in the table, he succeeded alongside 1-0 opening goal still the hit to the final score. He also drew attention to himself with three goals twice within four days: On December 14, 1975, he scored all five goals in a 5-0 win over Karlsruher SC together with two-time goalscorers Gerd Warken and was able to defeat 3: 4 - Celebrate defeat against 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 on December 18 as the sole goalscorer of his team.

In 1975 Dussier moved to France for first division promoted AS Nancy . One month after his Division 1 debut against US Valenciennes on August 8, 1975, he was able to enter the club's scorers list for the first time on September 12. After two years he left the club and moved on to the first division OSC Lille . With nine goals this season he was able to help the club to rise again, but moved to Belgium to THOR Waterschei .

Dussier made his debut in the Luxembourg national team on February 24, 1971 , when the selection in qualifying for the 1972 European Championship of the Dutch national team was defeated 6-0. On March 3, 1971, in a game against the German amateur national team , he scored the first goal in the national jersey in the second international match and he was able to enter the goalscorer list twice in the 4-2 success. As a result, he was able to establish himself in the national team and was one of the regular members of the selection until his death.

In January 1979 Dussier succumbed to leukemia .
