The station Neumünster is the junction between the lines Neumünster-Flensburg , Neumünster Heath , Hamburg-Altona keel , Neumünster bath Oldesloe , Hamburg-Altona-Neumünster and to 1985 Neumünster ash Berg . It is the most important train station in the city of Neumünster and in 2011 it was classified as station category 2 by Deutsche Bahn AG .

history

The station was built in 1844 on Schleswig-Holstein's first railway line from Altona to Kiel. In 1845 the track came to Rendsburg of Rendsburg-Neumünster's railway company added by the Altona-Kiel Railway Company again in 1866 after ash mountain and on to Neustadt in Holstein and 1875 by Bad Oldesloe and finally in 1877 the route Heide by West Holstein Railway Company . The AKN reached Neumünster in 1916, but the trains initially ended at Neumünster-Süd station.

The reception building from the beginning was demolished in 1974 and replaced by a modern building.

Passenger traffic on the Neumünster – Ascheberg line from Neumünster to Ascheberg near Plön has been inactive since September 1985 . In November 1995, freight traffic on this route was officially discontinued. In 2008 it was decided not to include the route in the route security agreement.

From 2009, several measures to modernize and refurbish the station were carried out. The passenger information systems were replaced and the guidance system renewed. The platforms got modern equipment, the entrances to the platforms were renewed and got lifts.

Traffic Company

  • Since December 15, 2002, the Nordbahn (NBE) has been running every hour between Neumünster, Bad Segeberg and Bad Oldesloe . Passenger traffic from Neumünster to Bad Segeberg was resumed in December 2002 after 18 years without passenger traffic. Nordbahn is a subsidiary of AKN. Since December 11, 2011, the Nordbahn has been serving the railway line from Neumünster to Hohenwestedt every hour , then on to Albersdorf , Heide (Holstein) and Büsum every two hours . Both routes are served by LINT 41 railcars .
  • Since April 1, 2009, DB Regio AG has been running the Neumünster – Kiel route with class 648 multiple units as a regional train. The NOB, which previously ran this line, took over the Kiel – Eckernförde route from DB Regio AG, which is now again served by DB Regio AG. Up until 2015, locomotives of the 143 series with four n-wagons operated as regional trains between Kiel and Neumünster ; since the beginning of 2016, locomotives of the 143 or 112 series with modernized InterRegio wagons have been running on this line , which until then had been on the Schleswig-Holstein Express were used. As part of the problem after the takeover of the Sylt traffic, which meant that the 90 married pair wagons could not be used due to coupling problems, surplus Modus wagons were relocated to Kiel from southern Germany and used on this connection. At times in 2017, class 648 double multiple units ran under the contact wire.

Tracks

The station has six tracks on three covered central platforms that are used for passenger traffic. As a rule, they are used as follows.

  • Trains to and from Bad Oldesloe run on platform 1.
  • Trains to and from Kaltenkirchen – Hamburg-Eidelstedt run on platform 2.
  • Trains to and from Hamburg, Kiel and Flensburg run on platforms 3, 4 and 5.
  • The trains to and from Hohenwestedt – Heide – Büsum run on platform 6.

Bus transport

Numerous inner-city and regional bus routes leave the train station. The city traffic is carried out by SWN Stadtwerke Neumünster, the overland traffic is operated by VKP Verkehrsbetriebe Kreis Plön and Autokraft . In areas where two buses run in opposite directions in a large loop, related line numbers are used (e.g. 2 and 22 for the Tungendorf destination area). This is how city traffic is divided:
