Théo Scholten (born January 4, 1963 in Luxembourg ) is a former Luxembourg football player .
Career
society
Scholten played for FC Aris Bonneweg , Jeunesse Esch , Avenir Beggen and CS Grevenmacher between 1983 and 1999 . With Jeunesse he won a total of three and with Avenir Beggen two Luxembourg championships . In addition, he won the cup once with Jeunesse and Grevenmacher and three times with Beggen .
In 1989 he was top scorer in the national division with 21 goals together with Armin Krings and Markus Krahen . With 419 appearances in the national division, he is in third place in the ranking of most games in Luxembourg's top division, behind Jonathan Joubert and Denis Scuto . In 1994, he became the player of the year in Luxembourg and by the Lorraine newspaper Le Républicain Lorrain for Monsieur Football chosen.
National team
Between 1984 and 1990 Scholten completed 21 international matches for the Luxembourg national team , in which he did not score. He played his first game on June 9, 1984 in the 2-1 defeat in the friendly against Portugal . He had his last appearance on March 28, 1990 in the friendly against Iceland , which also ended with a 1: 2 defeat for the Luxembourgers.
