Stefano Bensi (born August 10, 1988 in Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourg soccer player and current national player.

Career

Bensi started his career at FC Schifflingen 95 . After a year in the 1st team Schifflange, he moved to US Rümelingen in 2005 . After he had scored eleven goals in 15 games for Rümelingen in the first half of the 2008/09 season, he moved to the Belgian second division club KMSK Deinze during the winter break . After half a year he returned to Luxembourg, this time to the F91 Dudelange . There he won a total of four national titles.

For the 2012/13 season he moved to league rivals CS Fola Esch . He became champion with his new club and secured the top scorer's crown with 20 goals. On June 3, 2013, Bensi was voted “Footballer of the Year” in Luxembourg for the first time by a large margin. In 2015 he was able to celebrate the championship again with Fola .

National team

Bensi made his debut for the Luxembourg national team on October 11, 2008 in a World Cup qualifier against Israel (1: 3). He was replaced at half-time. He scored his first goal in the national dress with a 1-1 draw on June 7, 2013 in the World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan .
