Denis Scuto

Denis Scuto (born November 13, 1964 in Esch-sur-Alzette ) is a former Luxembourg soccer player and current historian.

He attended the Lycée Hubert-Clément in Esch and then studied at the Center universitaire de Luxembourg and the Université Libre de Bruxelles . For his diploma thesis on the Luxembourg labor movement between 1918 and 1923 and the strike of 1921 he received the Suzanne Tassier Prize of the University in 1988. He taught history at various secondary schools and then became a lecturer at the University of Luxembourg .

In 2009 he presented his dissertation on the construction of the national identity of Luxembourg ( La construction de la nationalité luxembourgeoise - Une histoire sous influence française, belge, allemande (1839–1940) ).

Scuto was a soccer player with Jeunesse Esch and played seven times for the Luxembourg national team .
