Bernd-Dietrich Katthagen

Bernd-Dietrich Katthagen (born December 18, 1952 in Hagen ) is a German orthopedist.

Life

As the son of the orthopedist Alfred Katthagen and his wife Margarete geb. Katthagen attended the humanistic Albrecht Dürer High School in Hagen . After graduating from high school, he studied medicine from 1971 at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and from 1974 at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . He has been a member of the Corps Hannovera since 1971 . In 1977 he passed the state examination in Kiel . The following year he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . He completed his basic surgical training at the Bergmannsheil University Hospital and the Paracelsus Clinic in Marl . In 1981 he went to the orthopedics from the University Hospital of the Saarland . There he became a specialist in orthopedics in 1984 . Having qualified as a professor since 1985 , he moved to the Giessen University Hospital in 1989 , where he was appointed associate professor in 1992 . In the same year he was elected director of the Orthopedic Clinic at the Dortmund Clinic . He is married and has two daughters and a son.
