George Dudley
George Stevens Dudley (born May 8, 1897 in Detroit , Michigan , † June 5, 1959 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American art director and production designer who was nominated for the Oscar for best production design at the 1940 Academy Awards .
Life
Dudley began his career as an art director and set designers in the film industry in Hollywood in 1939 at the Western Jesse James, husband without law of Henry King with Tyrone Power in the title role , as well as Henry Fonda and Randolph Scott in other leading roles. Until 1945 he was involved in setting up a total of fourteen films.
At the Academy Awards in 1940 he was nominated with William S. Darling for an Oscar for Best Production Design for the adventure film Night Over India (1939) directed by Clarence Brown with Tyrone Power, Myrna Loy and George Brent .
