Norddeutsche Verkehrsbetriebe is a transport company based in Husum . As a concessionaire, the company operates local public transport in Rendsburg .

Today's company was created on July 25, 2008 through the merger of Niebüller Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH and Nord-Ostsee-Bus GmbH . The company's headquarters are in Husum.

history

The history of the company goes back to the establishment of the company Kleinbahn Niebüll-Dagebüll oHG on January 22nd, 1895. The company originally active in rail transport mainly transported people and goods between Niebüll and Dagebüll .

In 1941 the company had four buses. These offered a total of 191 seats. In 1994 the company was called Nordfriesische Verkehrsbetriebe AG (NVAG) and had a total of 18 buses. It carried a total of around 465,000 passengers on five bus routes . In the same year they joined the North Friesland Regional Transport and Tariff Association .

On December 31, 2003, the NVAG reported bankruptcy to us and then ceased operations. The bus division was subsequently re-established as Niebüller Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH (NVB) and seamlessly took over the bus services of the predecessor company in Niebüll and the surrounding area.

On July 25, 2008, the NVB finally merged with Nord-Ostsee-Bus GmbH to form Norddeutsche Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH . The company headquarters initially remained in Niebüll. In addition, the name "Niebüller Verkehrsbetriebe" continued to exist.

At the beginning of 2017, the company took over the operation of the Rendsburg city transport network. It is also represented on site with its own customer center.

On August 1, 2019, the operation on the previously operated Niebüller lines in the Nordfriesland Nord district network was transferred to the company Autokraft in accordance with the contract . Since then, the company has only been active as a subcontractor for the sister company Rohde Verkehrsbetriebe in the North Friesland Central network .
